MSDF Social Identity and Playbook

Client: Michael & Susan Dell Foundation

Role: Art Director & Designer

Challenge: Create a visual identity for the MSDF instagram channel for launch, roll it out across all social channels and be able to hand off to production artists.

Process: Initially over a dozen branding directions were created, the client whittled it down to five, with the ‘Frame of Impact’ being their final choice. Then all content had to be created for launch including a kit with examples, so they could create all assets moving forward. All this was done in under two months.

Solution: Simple yet effective visual treatment for all channels using new “Frame of Impact” element, each frame’s colors correspond to an anchor statement of the MSDF Foundation.

Performance: The client liked the Instagram rebranding so much, they requested it be rolled out across all of their social channels, including Facebook and Twitter. All content created included three playbooks, over 60 social assets, over 25 frames for Instagram Highlights (animated by motion artist), and an annotated template PSD file for production artists.
